Michael J. Henry, MFA currently serves as Executive Director of Lighthouse Writers Workshop, an independent creative writing school located in downtown Denver. In addition, he teaches nonfiction writing for Lighthouse and University of Denver.

A former recipient of a Colorado Council on the Arts Fellowship, his nonfiction and poetry have appeared in such places as Threepenny Review, 5280, Many Mountains Moving, Pleiades, Red Rock Review, Georgetown Review, and Bloomsbury Review.

Michael grew up in Buffalo, New York, received a BA in English from University of Rochester and an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. In 1997, he co-founded Lighthouse with Andrea Dupree, who serves as program director at Lighthouse.

Currently he’s finishing a book-length memoir, entitled Down From Buffalo. A manuscript of poems, No Stranger Than My Own, will be published by Ghost Road Press in the fall of 2008.
